Dealer and Profile Settings

Vehicle Fair Trade separates personal settings from dealership settings. Your profile holds what is yours; the dealership settings hold what applies to the whole store. Knowing which is which helps you find the right place to make a change.

Your profile holds your personal details and preferences: your name, which dealership you are working under, and how evaluations display to you. The dealership settings hold store-wide options: the default AI-text language, the require-Carfax rule, and the evaluation toggles. This guide explains what lives where.

Profile settings (you)

Open your Profile from your account. You can change:

  • Your name (first and last).
  • The dealership you are working under , switch your active dealership if you belong to more than one.
  • How evaluations display to you , as cards or a list.
  • Whether your cell number appears on the public evaluation that wholesalers see.
  • Help mode , the guided tours that walk you through each page. On by default; switch it off here or from the navbar avatar menu.

Your email and password are managed in the security section. Your cell number is verified separately and is not edited on this form.

Dealership settings (the store)

The dealership settings apply to everyone in the store, so a change there affects the whole team. They include the default language for AI-generated text, the require-Carfax rule, the evaluation toggles (send-to-self, manual bids, editing after sending, and similar), and automatic team membership by email domain. The dealership name comes from the directory entry claimed at onboarding, and the texting number is provisioned automatically with a texting plan; neither is edited here.

The require-Carfax option

One dealership setting is worth calling out: you can require a Carfax report on a vehicle before it can be sent to wholesalers. Turn it on if a clean history is a standard part of how your store does wholesale; leave it off to decide vehicle by vehicle.
