Help mode: guided tours of Vehicle Fair Trade

Help mode is Vehicle Fair Trade’s built-in guided tour. When it is on, pages you visit walk you through their features with spotlight tooltips, one control at a time. It is on by default for new accounts.

Help mode shows guided tooltips on every page that has them. Leave it on while you learn the app; turn it off from the avatar menu in the navbar or the Help mode switch in your profile preferences when you no longer need it.

What Help mode does

With Help mode on, opening a page starts a short tour: the screen dims, a feature is spotlighted, and a tooltip explains what it does and where to go next. Step through with the navigation buttons or close the tour at any point. Each tour covers the page you are on, not the whole app, so the explanation shows up exactly where the feature lives.

The tours cover the working surfaces: the evaluations list and the new evaluation form, the evaluation detail with its send and value actions, the offers list, the Conversations tab, the CBB lookup, and the Comparables tool.

Turn it off from any page

Every tour popover includes a Turn off Help mode button, so the moment the tooltips stop being useful you can end them without leaving the page.

The other quick toggle lives in the navbar: open your avatar menu and select Help mode: On to switch it off, or Help mode: Off to switch it back on. The setting is personal, so it changes nothing for the rest of your team.

Turn it off from your profile preferences

The same switch lives in your Profile under Preferences, labeled Help mode. Use whichever is closer; both control the same setting.

When to leave it on

Help mode is built for the first weeks on the platform, and for teammates who join your dealership later. A new member added to your team gets the tours by default, learns the pages as they visit them, and turns the mode off on their own once the workflow is familiar. There is no cost to leaving it on; pages you have already seen simply replay their tour when you return.

Is Help mode on by default?

Yes. New accounts start with Help mode on, so the first visit to each page comes with its tour. Turn it off whenever you are done learning.

How do I turn Help mode off?

Three ways: the Turn off Help mode button on any tour popover, the Help mode entry in the navbar avatar menu, or the switch in your profile preferences.

Does turning it off affect my team?

No. Help mode is a personal preference. Each member of your dealership controls their own.

Which pages have tours?

The main working pages: evaluations (list, create, detail), offers, conversations, the CBB lookup, and the Comparables tool. New features get stops added over time.

Can I replay a tour?

Yes. With Help mode on, revisiting a page replays its tour. Turn the mode back on from the navbar or your profile if you had switched it off.
